PUPPY LOVE...TO THE MAX
Mom had been looking for a canine companion for quite a
while before we found Max. He’s an I’d worked with Cathleen on a few different issues, and
remembered her saying she loves working with pets and their owners. Cathleen came over for a home visit, and to say we were impressed and
happy is an understatement. As we sat there, my Mother describing how rambunctious and
overly energetic Max was, Cathleen asked if she could begin working directly on
him. We sat there astonished as within just a few
minutes, Max was sitting at her feet, panting hard as he began to relax, but not even straining to
get away! Cathleen began speaking to Max as she tapped along the back
of his head and down his spine, telling him what a good puppy he was but that
this behavior “wasn’t fun” for us and that he had to stop it and be “polite”
now. We were amazed to watch him yawn
and relax even more as with each new round of suggestions he seemed to begin to
understand her ever word. Having
had sessions myself, I realized that he was yawning just as I was prone to do,
and Cathleen explained this was one of the normal energy shifting release
signals. It made total
sense and I understood what was going on with Max, as I know from my own
experience that as I tap along with the scripts Cathleen gives me in session I
begin to shift around, yawn and relax as the old, negative thoughts and
feelings leave and we install new, positive ones. Pretty soon, Cathleen wasn’t even holding Max he was just
sitting there comfortably at her feet, a sight we never expected to witness, or
at least not so quickly. At this point,
we began to discuss Max’s history and Cathleen began to incorporate what we
were telling her into the conversation she was having directly with Max. He’d been given away and lost his home, so
she would tap on his fear of being left alone, and his other insecurities. One of the most frustrating things we encountered with Max was our inability to get his attention. Boy were we chagrinned when Cathleen pointed out that Max probably didn’t realize his new name was permanent! He’d originally
been called Snowflake, but Mom had decided that was too girly a name, so we
changed it to Max. Cathleen continued
to tap while asking Max if it would be okay for him to be called Max instead of
Snowflake, and other things like that if he would be good that ours was the
family that wanted to love him for ever. It was very touching and heartwarming watching Max clearly understand
that he was loved, had a home and that his new name would be his for the rest
of his days. After
the session we sat there with Cathleen just drinking lemonade and chatting
away. Max had taken a calm, proud and
happy seat on the chair next to my mother. He seemed to be announcing with pride that “this is my family” and “I
get to stay here,” all while being calm and very polite. Mom kept patting his head, saying “thank you
Max,” and “I love you very much.” She
was beaming too. It was then that I saw it: Cathleen was starring at Max and Max was starring back directly at
her. His eyes were slightly closed, as
were hers, and every so often Max’s head would nod barely. If I didn’t know better, I thought, I’d say
she was speaking to him. So I watched a
bit longer when it finally became clear that yes, indeed they were having a
conversation! I asked her what she was
talking to Max about and she matter-of-factly said, “Oh, I’m just running down
the list of things we cleared and installed with Max to make sure he
understands and to see if he has any other fears or issues we need to
clear.” I saw it. My mother
saw it. And Cathleen confirmed it. She was literally talking to our dog, and he
was answering her back! She explained
that the more connected she gets to an animal via the energy modalities she
works with, the more she gets a strong sense of what they are feeling or
thinking, almost like a conversation, just like she does with her human
clients. I’ve experienced it myself,
but I took it for granted during my own sessions. Actually I didn’t realize just how clear her intuition connection
is until that moment when I said, “But Max is really speaking to you...he’s nodding...are
you asking yes and no questions?” She
really was asking him questions and he was really answering her. Cathleen
explained that while a major clearing had taken place, and things would be far
different, we would still need to work with him. First, because he was still a puppy, and
second because being given away like he’d been, we didn’t know all the ways
he’d experience separation anxiety and trauma. But, she told us, just tap along with what you don’t like and then do it
again with what you want him to do. Since that day, we had Cathleen work on him directly one
other time, as she was a guest at a home jewelry party I was having, she
thought it would be a great opportunity to clear him of jumping on people and
getting excited with crowds. Once again we were astonished and incredibly pleased with
the results. Cathleen asked Max to come
over, and of course he did with glee as he loves her almost as much as she
loves him now! They sat once again,
calmly and with his cute little butt on her foot as she tapped about how polite
little doggies wait to be invited to be pet, and that ladies don’t like to be
made messy by well-intentioned dogs. Max sat there watching all the people and getting more and more calm, as
those same people all commented on how he was indeed becoming remarkably
relaxed. When she was done, Cathleen asked one of my other guests if
she’d like to have Max come visit her. She agreed, and then Cathleen asked Max to go over and say hello in a polite
way...by sitting and “waiting until the pretty lady pets you...” We all wished there was a video camera nearby...because Max
stood up, gently and confidently walked over, sat down in front of my guest on
cue, and awaited his very much-appreciated petting. Max has become a beloved and cherished family member. Sweet and gentle in his nature, his manners improve all the time as he matures. The shifts were astonishing and clearly attributable to the work Cathleen did on him. And it wasn’t just the in-person work, as she’s guided us to clear some things on the phone and maintain his behavior-using EFT ourselves. We’re ever so grateful we decided to clear Max’s bad behaviors and install his gentle and helpful ones...just as Cathleen says, now we are truly enjoying our wonderful new family member...in Living Harmony.
